Gdanisko

Gdanisko is a tower that belongs to the oldest castle buildings. In the Middle Ages, it served as the main castle toilet, and if necessary, also as the tower of final defense. It was erected on arcades so that water could flow under it, carrying impurities. The barred opening in the floor highlights the height of the tower and the well-thought-out system of medieval sanitary facilities. In the first stage of building the castle, when Gdanisko also served as the final defense tower, part of the porch was drawbridge. It was erected in a non-durable, wooden structure. As the stronghold expanded and security increased, the entire porch to Gdanisko was built in the form of a permanent corridor on arcades.
