The ‘Merit for the City of Malbork’ Award

The Malbork Castle Museum receives the ‘Merit for the City of Malbork’ award.

On Wednesday, 25 October 2023, a special meeting of the Malbork City Council took place at Malbork Castle’s Karwan Conference Centre. The purpose of the meeting was to grant the title of “Merit for the City of Malbork” to Mrs Teresa Żelazo and the Malbork Castle Museum. The Malbork City Council approved the conferring of the titles in a meeting that took place on 15 June 2023.

During the ceremony, Council Chairman Paweł Dziwosz gave a speech in praise of the recipients. Mayor Marek Charzewski handed the statuettes to Mrs Teresa Żelazo and Director Janusz Trupinda.

‘As a representative of the museum staff, both current and those who are no longer with us, I am thankful for this unexpected award. It is a tremendous expression of respect for their work, passion and what they have left behind within its halls,’ said Dr Janusz Trupinda, Director of the Malbork Castle Museum, during his acceptance speech.
