The Impact of Digitisation on Increasing the Accessibility of Museum Collections – Training Course

Launched in 2021, the project ‘Altering the Historic Utility Buildings in the Outer Ward of Malbork Castle and Adapting Them to Cultural and Education Purposes’, which is partially financed as part of the Culture Programme (EEA Financial Mechanism), is not only about construction work. It also includes interesting workshops, meetings, educational initiatives and training courses. We have just wrapped up one such initiative – The Impact of Digitisation on Increasing the Accessibility of Museum Collections.

The topics discussed during the course included: 

• Digitising collections for increased availability,
• The importance of online accessibility and open data,
• Strategies of sharing museum collections – Polish and international case studies,
• Projects and creative partnerships making use of digitised heritage assets.

The course also included a group exercise and a summary of the workshop.
