The 44th International Hanseatic Convention

The 44th International Hanseatic Convention took place this year in Gdańsk between 13 and 16 June. Over the course of the Convention days, representatives of the cities associated in the Hanseatic League took part in debates, shared their experiences and promoted their culture at the Hanseatic Fair. The Malbork Castle Museum could not have missed it either, as it, together with representatives of the city hall, proudly represented our beautiful city.

The convention was held with the slogan ‘Change begins here’. On 13 June, the delegation was officially welcomed by the Gdańsk authorities at the Gdańsk Evening. This was followed by the Grand Parade of Cities along the Royal Way.

On 14 June, the traditional Hanseatic Fair was opened and continued until the end of the convention. It was an excellent opportunity for cities to present the best they have to offer. The fair was accompanied by musical performances by bands from various cities.

Malbork’s stand, with the slogan ‘One day is not enough’, promoted the attractions of the city and its surroundings, encouraging participants to take part in the Siege of Malbork. Visitors from various countries were very interested in Malbork and its Castle, and willingly picked up promotional and information materials.
