European ceramics in the collection of the Castle Museum in Malbork, Malbork 2018

The publication European ceramics in the collection of the Castle Museum in Malbork by Barbara Pospieszna and Artur Dobry is the next volume in the series “Catalogues of the collections of the Castle Museum in Malbork”. This work consists of two thematically separated parts. The first, slightly larger, presents clay, stoneware, faience and porcelain dishes of various shapes and purposes, as well as ceramic toys that were produced in small pottery workshops as well as in mechanized factories in Europe. Most of them were purchased by the museum, but there are also those obtained from archaeological research conducted in the castle, both by German conservators in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and Polish conservators after the museum was established in 1961 . The second, less extensive part of the catalogue, but very visually attractive, are dishes related to the city, the castle or the German Order. Their main feature is that they were produced in Malbork or for Malbork companies and enterprises, and with tourists willingly coming here in mind. (Barbara Hasty)

The catalog is published in two language versions, Polish and English

The publication can be purchased stationary at the Castle Museum in Malbork and online at the online store: http://sklep5549667.homesklep.pl/pl/p/CERAMIKA-EUROPEJSKA/347

Artistic textile in the collection of the Castle Museum in Malbork, Ewa Witkowicz-Pałka, Malbork 2020

Artistic Tapestry in the collection of the Castle Museum in Malbork (published by Malbork, 2020) is another catalog item presenting the castle collection. The collection of textiles, although modest in number (75 objects), includes almost all types of textiles: from large-format tapestries, through carpets, tapestries and tapestries, elements of costume and horse tack, to interesting examples of church paraments. A particularly valuable part of the collection is a set of robe belts, among which buyers of the catalog will find real rarities of the species with an interesting provenance. The presented publication is the first, complete and fully illustrated elaboration of the collection of textiles, the beginnings of which date back to the first fruits of the existence of the Castle Museum. (Ewa Witkowicz-Pałka)
