The museum periodical published by the Castle Museum in Malbork has been reactivated after a few years’ break. The presented, long-awaited series has a new graphic design and form, which is supposed to be more friendly to all readers, while maintaining the scientific nature and program criteria of the magazine. The journal is edited jointly by the Publishing College of the Castle Museum in Malbork
and given to you with the hope that it will be received with enthusiasm and interest.

The museum periodical published by the Castle Museum in Malbork has been reactivated after a six-year break. The presented new, fifth volume of “studies”, so long awaited, has a new graphic design and form, which is supposed to be more friendly to all readers, while maintaining the scientific nature and program criteria of the journal. In the current issue you will find a number of diverse and interesting articles in the field of weapons science, history and art history. Antoni Romuald Chodyński characterizes the form and functions of pole and blunt weapons, and introduces the figure of Bronisław Mróz-Mieszkowski. Daniel Gosk presents kapalin with cheeks from the collection of the Castle Museum in Malbork. In her article, Barbara Pospieszna describes in detail the history of the Malbork collection of plaster casts. Rafał Panfil defines religious relations in Malbork from the Reformation to the beginning of the 17th century. Karol Polejowski, in turn, took the floor in the discussion on the origins of two-storey churches of knightly orders in the Middle Ages. Janusz Hochleitner and Bartłomiej Wypych raise the issue of historical reenactment based on surveys conducted on members of the chapter of Polish knighthood at the Malbork Castle in 2017. Wiesława Połom-Jakubowicz prepared the calendar of exhibitions of the Castle Museum in Malbork in the years 2003-2017.
