Flood drills and Uniformed Services Recruitment Picnic

Today, Malbork Castle became the centre of activities for the uniformed services. The morning flood drill ‘ZAMEK-25’ on the Nogat River drew lots of attention from residents and tourists, and was followed by a conference attended by representatives of the authorities and services.

Speakers included: Director of the Castle Museum, Dr Janusz Trupinda, Pomeranian Governor Beata Rutkiewicz, Pomeranian Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service, Brigadier Jacek Niewęgłowski, Officer of the Regional Labour Inspectorate Paweł Grabowski, Regional Director of the Prison Service,                Lt. Col. Marta Jakubowska, Mayor of Malbork Marek Charzewski, Malbork Starost Piotr Szwedowski and Deputy Pomeranian Province Governor Anna Olkowska-Jacyno.

After the official part, the Uniformed Services Recruitment Picnic began, featuring rescue demonstrations, equipment presentations, discussions with officers and workshops. Visitors could see rescue operations, modern equipment and vehicles up close, talk to officers and learn about everyday service.

The recruitment zone also attracted a lot of interest.

It was a very comprehensive presentation, as children and young people could see what the work of various uniformed services, such as the military, prison service, police, border and customs guards, and the National Revenue Administration, involves.

Perhaps today marks the beginning of a new career path for many people!
