‘ – My deepest apologies. We are just closing. I thought everyone had already left the museum.
– Museum? What museum? What is a museum? I live here’.
We have a special surprise for you this summer season. A new tour of the castle – the Monastery Route – is set to be made available on 5 July.
A visit to Malbork Castle is definitely a trip to ancient times. To add to this experience, we are going to make you witness an unusual encounter. Thanks to time travel, two characters meet in the courtyard of the High Castle.
The Grand Master’s chaplain, Vitus, who has been transported back in time, meets the curator of the Castle Museum, Jan. This walk through the modern castle together is an excellent opportunity to learn about several centuries of history and the transformation of the Malbork fortress.
Vitus and Jan are separated by hundreds of years of history, but they definitely share a love of the place and its monastic rules. Witnessing this encounter is an excellent insight into the rhythm of life of the inhabitants of the medieval Malbork castle.
The Monastic Tour lasts 2 hours and, leading through von Plauen’s ramparts, the Outer Bailey and the Middle Castle, arrives at the High Castle, where its main narrative is centred.
See you there!
