Exhibition “Historic mechanisms at the Malbork Castle”
The exhibition “Historic mechanisms in the Malbork Castle. Projects and Realizations by Conrad Steinbrecht” is now availavle for the guests of the Malbork Castle Museum.
This year we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the death of Conrad Steinbrecht, the head of the Malbork Castle Reconstruction Board and its long-term guardian, which contributed to the creation of this exhibition.
The exhibition presents some of the preserved documents from Steinbrecht’s personal archive and materials from the significant legacy of the Malbork Castle Reconstruction Board. This is the first exhibition in the history of the Castle Museum devoted to the historic technical devices in the castle complex in Malbork dated for the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition showcases original designs and old images of mechanisms preserved to this day or destroyed in 1945, e.g. winches for lifting harrows, drawbridges or lifts for delivering supplies to attics.
We invite you to visit the exhibition the Baths at the Middle Castle and to the open-air museum from April 18 to December 31, 2023. The exhibition will be available every day during the opening hours of the Museum.
