“Lost forms” exhibition extended

The exhibition Lost Forms – lost ceramic objects from the Malbork and Kwidzyn collections has been extended and will be open to the public until 31 May 2026.

Inspired by the publication of a catalogue of wartime losses prepared by the Malbork Castle Museum, the exhibition shows the most fragile evidence of the destruction of pre-war collections from Malbork and Kwidzyn. The objects on display – mainly Pomeranian faience and folk ceramics from the 18th to 19th centuries – have been partly reconstructed on the basis of archival material and iconography.

The exhibition was created as part of a project researching Polish wartime losses, co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. All the reconstructions were made by the Malbork ceramicist Beata Grudziecka.

We invite you to discover the stories hidden in each of the items on display.

Co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Fund for the Promotion of Culture within the framework of the programme ‘Research on Polish War Losses’.
