‘Thursdays at the Outer Bailey’ – inauguration of a new series of cultural meetings

Thursdays at the Outer Bailey

The Malbork Castle Museum is pleased to invite you to a series of meetings called Thursdays at the Outer Bailey.

This is something for everyone – history enthusiasts, book lovers, people looking for ways to spend their time in a meaningful way, old and young. We take you on a journey through history, show you the work of a museum professional, tell you about interesting publications and much more.

Meetings are held once a month, always on a Thursday, in the conference room of the Science Library, in the newly opened building at the Outer Bailey.

The series is scheduled to be inaugurated on 4 July at 5 PM, and focuses on the activities of the Malbork Castle Museum related to the research into the war losses and scattered collections of the Malbork Castle.

We invite you to a meeting entitled A chair regained… loss – origin – identity of a place.

The eponymous chair is a symbol of all lost / sought/ recovered artefacts from the pre-war collections of Malbork Castle. The activities of the #Losses Project as part of the ministerial programme Research into Polish War Losses are going to be presented in this context.

We intend to discuss the issue of war losses and the methodology of origin research, and we plan to present the results of the project so far, not only in the form of recovered artefacts, but also publications which will be available during the meeting. We look forward to your active participation in the meeting. If you are interested, please visit the website www.straty.zamek.malbork.pl, where you can find out in advance about the issues raised, as we look forward to discussing them with you.
